What you get on your first flight
No drawing-board promises: the first version is already flying, and this is what is in it the day your invite lands. The screens on this page come straight from the app.
Events with RSVP
Fly-ins, hangar parties, spotter afternoons and crew drinks. Anyone can host one, and you see who else is going once you RSVP yourself.
Share and follow trips
Put your flying trip online with stops, photos and the route on a satellite map. Followers get a ping at every new stop, and sharing to Instagram is one tap.
Flying buddies, and dates if you want
Your profile controls what you are here for: buddies, dating or both. You only see people looking for the same, so it stays comfortable for everyone.
Chat and timeline
Chat the moment it clicks and follow what your matches are flying on your timeline. Instagram and logbook only appear after a match, never before.
As an app on your phone
Install Flynder on iPhone or Android and get a notification for a match, a message or a new stop from someone you follow.

The butterfly
Flynder simply started as fly plus finder. Until someone at a hangar party read the name out loud and heard the Dutch word vlinder in it: butterfly. That turned out to be no coincidence. Butterflies in your stomach at ten thousand feet is exactly what we are here for, so it has been flying in our logo ever since.

What is Flynder?
The community app for aviation. Find flying buddies, share and follow flying trips, meet at fly-ins and hangar parties, and if you want to, date. Everyone on Flynder is verified aviation people.
What already works?
The first version is live: verified profiles, finding flying buddies and dates, events with RSVP, trips with a satellite route map, chat and notifications. The screens on this page are real screens from the app.
Who is it for?
Everyone who works or flies in aviation: pilots (commercial and general aviation), cabin crew, ground staff, engineering and air traffic controllers. All roles are equal. Minimum age is 18.
What does it cost?
The waitlist is free and the core of the app will be free. We will decide on any extras later, together with the founding crew.
When can I get in?
The app is already running in closed beta. We invite the waitlist in batches, in order of sign-up.
What happens to my email address?
Only updates about your invite, with double opt-in. We never sell or share your address, and unsubscribing takes one click. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted automatically after 6 months.
Is it only for dating?
No. Dating is there if you want it, but you can just as well come for flying buddies, trips and events. Your profile controls what you are open to, and you only see people looking for the same.
Why Flynder
Aviation is small. Flynder makes it tight.
You know each other from the radio, the crew bus or the club, but there was no place where that came together. Here you find your flying buddy for Saturday, follow someone's trip to the Alps, and stand next to them at a fly-in a month later. And if something beautiful takes off from there, we will not say no.
